Foreign Investment in Logistics |
|
| To attract foreign logistics companies
to Korea, the KILC organizes seminars in places such as the U.S.,
Japan, and Europe. The KILC also participates in exhibitions overseas
to promote Korea's logistics and investment environment. Moreover,
we take part in the so-called "Port Sales" to promote Korea's
airports and ports internationally. We are active in connection foreign
logistics companies with Korean business partners, and making visits
to logistics firms, port and airports for evaluation and consultation.
We proactively assist in developing solutions to issues and challenges
arising within the logistics industry to improve the foreign business
environment. |

| Supporting
Korean firms to make inroads into overseas markets |
|
To assist Korean logistics and manufacturing
firms entering foreign markets, the KILC arranges investment and trade
missions composed of government officials and industry experts.
We play a pivotal role in establishing networks with overseas logistivs
organizations. Additionally, we introduce trends in advanced logistics
enterprises and new logistics-related technologies, and produce in-depth
logistics publications based upon logistics industry data collected
by contry and region. |

| Developing
a Sophisticated Logistics Industry in Korea |
|
To develop a sophisticated logistics
industry in Korea as a whole, the KILC holds regular forums to discuss
logistics development with concerned communities. We collect private
sector opinions by visiting logistics companies, Free Trade Zone,
ports, airports, etc.
In addition the KILC pursues projects such as developing content for
logistics for overseas internships in advanced logistics firms, and
hosting international seminars for logistics development. |

| Conduction
Research and Survey Projects to Make the Best Logistics Environment
|
|
The KILC plans to conduct research projects
for upgrading Korea's logistics-related regulations and institutions
for a more business-friendly environment. Research projects will examine
the current levels of logistics costs of foreign trade, and will include
case studies on utilization levels of 3PL by shippers.
Surveys of the levels of efficiency of the logistics industry, and
government-private sector joint surveys of the logistics environment
for trade will be conducted. The KILC will also produce publications
on current logistics issues relevant to the logistics industry in
Korea. |

| Pursuing
International Cooperation |
|
| The KILC also aims at promoting logistics
cooperation in Northeast Asia between Korea, China and Japan as well
implementing international cooperation projects with Hong Kong, Singapore
and other partners to develop advanced logistics industries in the
region. |
